Hello Parents! 

Your freshman is invited to the Freshmen Plunge! My name is Jackson Greer, and I have the privilege of serving as the Dean of the Students for the High School this upcoming year at GFCS. 

This email will include IMPORTANT DETAILS FOR FRESHMEN PLUNGE on MONDAY AUGUST 10, so please read it in its entirety.

DROP OFF/CHECK IN & PICK UP:
Drop-off and check-in will begin promptly at 1 PM in the foyer at the Dallas Road Campus. Please arrive on time so we can check everyone in and stay on schedule.

Pick up time is immediately following the conclusion of Family Night of Worship in the CAC at the Dallas Road Campus (Approximately 7:30 pm). You and your family are welcome to join us at the Family Night of Worship. It is open to all Faith Families!

COST:
This event is free to you and your student! Dinner and activities are covered!

PACKING LIST:

• Backpack/tote with the following items…
• Personal Laptop for Technology Setup
• Journal
• Pen/Pencil 
• Socks for Galaxy Skate
• Snacks (if wanted)
• Spending money for Galaxy Skate Snack Bar

PHONES:
They will be allowed their phones during Freshmen Plunge. They are responsible for any belongings they bring.

A NOTE ON MEALS:
If your child has dietary restrictions, please email me with the details—even if we’ve discussed it before—so I can make sure everything is accounted for to keep our students safe.

We’ll have our very own Chef Patrick catering dinner before the Family Night of Worship at the school. There will be chances to buy snacks at Galaxy Skate with their own money. We will NOT have special diet meals available, so please plan to pack food accordingly.

ITINERARY:

• 1:00 pm – 1:15 pm → Check-In + Welcome in Dallas Road Foyer
• 1:15 – 1:30 pm → Junior Leaders Introduction + Groups
• 1:30 – 4:00 pm → Group Rotation (Technology, Counseling, Scavenger Hunt)
• 4:15 – 5:30 pm → Meet the Teacher, Schedule Pickup, School Tour
• 5:45 - 6:15 pm → Dinner @ (Learning Commons at Dallas Road)
• 6:30 - 7:30 pm → Family Night of Worship @ (CAC at Dallas Road)

BACK TO SCHOOL ORIENTATION:
Your student will be able to pick up their schedule and meet their teachers during the 3:15 to 4:00 pm window when Back to School Orientation begins. At this point, your student is free to attend orientation with you or their friends. They will not be required to stick with their Freshmen Plunge group during this time! 

We are so excited for this fun day! Please contact me with any additional questions, or if your kid is joining us anywhere other than our first stop / if they are unable to attend.
