Grapevine Faith’s Class of 2019 is truly exceptional. This group of students boasts not only a 100% college acceptance rate and an average ACT score well above the state and national averages but also (as of their graduation date) 277 scholarships totaling more than $13 million. This scholarship amount exceeds that of all other previous graduating classes, with 89% of the 80 graduates receiving at least one scholarship offer.
Six of these graduates are Alpha Omega students, meaning they have attended Grapevine Faith since Kindergarten. Students J.D. Austin, Annabelle Conway, Maddie Howard, Bailey Jordan, Ben McClendon, and Cason Miller, along with their families, have demonstrated loyalty and commitment to Grapevine Faith Christian School, and we are proud to honor them. This class also celebrated the 1,000th graduate in Grapevine Faith’s history - Malik Caper!
While most of these students are heading straight to college, attending universities in Texas, across the United States, and even in Australia, one is completing a gap year mission program through World Race and another is enlisting in the United States Marine Corps. These students clearly have a desire to serve God, others, and their country. Collectively, the Class of 2019 completed 15,977 hours of community service and participated in 160 high school mission trips. We are proud to know that we have graduated students who not only excel in academics, creative arts, and athletics, but also value service, humility, and Christ-like love in their post-grad pursuits.
And what would we do without the selfless service and care provided by our incredible College & Academic Advising team led by Michelle Taylor? She and her team invest in students beginning their freshman year by touring Dallas Baptist University, Texas Christian University, Texas A&M University, and Baylor University on the Freshman College Tour. During sophomore and junior years, Mrs. Taylor and her team guide students through ACT and SAT test preparation, equip them for early college visits, and introduce them to university representatives by inviting colleges from all over to visit the Grapevine Faith campus, including University of Alabama, University of Arkansas, Colorado Christian University, Wheaton College, Purdue University, John Brown University, Louisiana State University, and many more. All of this work culminates in senior year as students apply for colleges, receive scholarships, and prepare to graduate. This year’s class is proof that this intentional process works - of the 454 college applications submitted, students received 361 acceptance letters (an 80% acceptance rate).
Grapevine Faith is extremely proud of all the work put forth by the Class of 2019, the members of the College & Academic Advising team, and all of the faculty and staff who make it possible for our graduates to live out their God-given potential as authentic Christian leaders.
