Athletes at Grapevine Faith

All athletes are required to properly represent Christ on and off the field or they will not be afforded the privilege of representing Faith in interscholastic competition. The athletic program at Faith is structured very intentionally, with specific goals in mind for athletes at each level.

At the junior high level the focus is placed on the life lessons learned through the spirit of competition. All athletes who try out and make a junior high team will receive an opportunity to participate and contribute.

The freshmen and junior varsity teams are centered on player development. While the playing time percentage may vary, an attempt is made to ensure each student has an opportunity to participate.

At the varsity level, teams play to win championships. A varsity team can, and should compete at the highest level, giving maximum effort, in a way that honors Christ and the teams in which they compete.

Congratulations to our 2018-19 College Signees!

Academic Assistance Program

Grade checks are conducted every quarter. Students failing a class at the time of a grade check participate in the Academic Assistance Program to raise their grade and restore participation eligibility.

Congratulations!

Faith produced one individual state champion during the 2018-19 school year: Katelyn Brown was the state champ for the girls 500 in swimming! Jase Summy placed 2nd in the state golf tournament as a freshman, and tennis sent a girls doubles team--Macie Mitchell and Kailey Gumm--to state. Five track and field athletes also competed at the state meet. 27 student-athletes received all-state recognition and 29 received academic all-state honors. In addition, four seniors signed letters of intent to continue their athletic careers in college.

In team sports, girls soccer took home both state and district championships. Boys soccer took home the district championship and made it to state semi-finals. Girls swim took 2nd in state, and softball made the playoffs for the first time since its return to GFCS athletics.
