Testing

Grapevine Faith Christian School desires to set every student up for success. We consider each student’s full application for admissions, although because we serve students in the average to the above average academic range and operate with a college preparatory pace and load, we have a minimum admissions test score requirement for each grade. Testing scores are considered heavily as they tend to be indicators for success.

Elementary – Once application is submitted, appointment will be set for testing. Junior High and High School –Grapevine Faith administers this test several times during the year. 

Brigance Early Childhood Screen III
The Brigance Early Childhood Screen III is a collection of quick, data-gathering assessments for children three through five years old.  This screening provides us with an understanding of the child's development at this particular point in time, offering a snapshot of school readiness and mastery of early developmental and academic skills, including fine and gross motor skills, language development, early literacy, and mathematics. 

Pre-K, Kindergarten and 1st Grade – Once application is submitted, appointment will be set for testing.

Search and Teach
SEARCH & TEACH is an early intervention program developed to meet the educational needs of young learners.  SEARCH is a 20-minute individual test designed to identify strengths and weaknesses in readiness skills necessary for reading success. TEACH is a program of 55 learning activities called “tasks”, carefully designed to address needs revealed by SEARCH.  The tasks are ordered from simple to complex and organized into visual, visual-motor, auditory, body-image, and intermodal skill clusters which correspond to the elements of the SEARCH test.

Stanford 10 Standardized Test
The Stanford 10 Test measures student achievement across the subjects of reading, mathematics, language, spelling, listening comprehension, science, and social science.

Pre-K, Kindergarten and 1st Grade – Once application is submitted, appointment will be set for testing.

The ISEE (Independent School Entrance Exam) is required for second through eleventh grade applicants.  The test may be taken before or after the application is submitted.
