Alum Scott Sanders Joins Wheaton Baseball on Sports Ministry Trip to Cuba

Scott Sanders, GFCS Class of 2024, joined his teammates at Wheaton College on a sports ministry trip to Cuba this month.

Scott is in his sophomore year at Wheaton after committing to play baseball for the college in Illinois. He is a utility player for the team.

The Wheaton baseball team spent a week in Havana, Cuba, competing in games against local teams, holding baseball clinics, distributing food, and sharing the Gospel.

In a post to the Wheaton Baseball athletics page, Senior pitcher Jack Lindsay said the trip has been a chance to share their testimonies with Cubans.

“The whole team brought energy off the jump, and it felt like the kids at the clinic really fed off of that,” he said. “And while we sought to make better baseball players, the goal was showing them that you can have fun playing baseball while worshiping Christ.
