Food for Thought: Continue the Conversation at Home

Food for Thought: Continue the Conversation at Home

Try asking your child one of these questions after school:

  • What did you choose for lunch today?
  • Which foods helped you grow, think, or play?
  • How many food groups were represented in your meal?
  • What fruit or vegetable could you add next time?

A simple family goal is to build meals with at least three food groups or add one colorful fruit or vegetable to an already familiar meal.

Small choices, practiced can help students develop healthy habits that last far beyond the lunchroom.
