Hard Hats, Soft Hearts Ministry Returns - Summer 2011
Summer is here and the Dallas Road Construction has already jumped into full gear! That provides the Faith Family with another opportunity to reach out and minister to the workers through the Hard Hats – Soft Hearts Ministry. Our goal is to point them to Jesus and give them a taste of what Faith is all about!
I have met with the site supervisor and have let them know that our families want to bless each and every worker that sets foot on the grounds of Faith.
The timeframe: Weekly - From Week of June 6th through Week of July 18th.
Our plan:
- To provide them with bottled water, iced down, each day
- To provide them with an ice chest full of Gatorades/sodas once a week for lunch
- To provide them with snacks and goodies twice a week
DRINKS
We would love to have iced down waters for the workers each day. If you would like to pick up a case of water and bring it by the Dallas Road campus, we'll make sure it gets iced down and served. We would also love to provide a cooler with sodas, Gatorade, and other "fun" drinks for the workers to enjoy with their lunch once a week. If you would like to donate a case of Gatorade or soda, please drop that off in the Dallas Road office during summer office hours - Mon-Thurs, 9a-3p.
If you are unable to bring drinks by, but would like to help contribute to the mission, simply click on the "Hard Hats, Soft Hearts" donation icon below where you can donate money to help purchase drinks.
SNACKS/GOODIES
We would love to provide the workers with great snacks twice a week – baked goods, snack food, fruit, etc. If you would like to bring something up one day, please contact Cindy McCaw at cindy.mccaw@yahoo.com and she will put you on the schedule, let you know exactly where to deliver things on site, as well as send reminders. Plan for 25 workers.
We know that we have a great group of creative people that know how to be Jesus with skin on! If you have other ideas of how to bless the construction crew, please contact Janet Ethridge at janet.ethridge@grapevinefaith.com and she will put you in touch with the right person.
A huge thanks to Rocky Johnson who has once again volunteered to take on the task of filling and icing down drinks constantly for our fantastic workers. Thanks Rocky!
