Car Donation Program
Over the last 10 years and more, one man has funneled about $300,000 to Grapevine Faith, but not because he had that kind of money lying around in some forgotten investment. Instead Butch Ethridge, whose family has been involved with this school since its founding, found a way to use his skill and knowledge as a professional auto mechanic to enhance the school’s mission. It started with one car he was able to fix up and sell for a profit of $100. Since then about 475 vehicles (including RV’s, motorcycles and trucks) have been donated to the school and have been either repaired or had their parts sold. As a result many projects and materials not included in the annual operating budget have been financed. Included are campus surveillance cameras, a scissor lift, even buses. The historic cottage on campus was restored by using these funds. Though Butch served on the original Board of Trustees, saw two daughters graduate and has seen his wife Janet serve as an indispensable member of the school staff, he found yet another way to invest in Grapevine Faith that no one else could do quite as well. If you have such a vehicle or want to otherwise help with the program, call Renee Sal in the business office at 817.442.9144 x190.
